Background: From Classroom to Clubhouse

Fingagolf is a fresh take on golf that can be played anywhere. Created by Glyn Richards, the game uses a small plastic club that fits on your finger, allowing players to putt, chip, and spin a miniature ball with surprising precision. Originally made for fun, the concept quickly gained traction as friends, family, and early testers saw its potential.

Glyn is based in Phuket, Thailand, where he works as an international school teacher. But the growing demand for Fingagolf means it is becoming an increasingly prominent focus alongside his teaching career. With users mainly in the US and UK, strong early reviews, and a growing product range, Glyn knew it was time to put proper financial systems in place.

Meeting at the British Golf Show

Glyn first met Graeme Love, founder of Accounts.golf, at the British Golf Show. Graeme stopped to watch Fingagolf being played and was impressed by the buzz around the stand. The two struck up a conversation, with Glyn explaining that the game was still in its prototype stage. Graeme left his details, suggesting they reconnect when the business was ready.

Reflecting on that first meeting, Glyn says: “What struck me was the amount of genuine interest Graeme took in me and how he took the time to understand what I was doing, and where I was in my stage of business. Not once did he try to sell me on him. If anything he was trying to sell me on me.”

Within six months, Fingagolf’s sales were starting to build. With money coming in and going out, and a growing need for professional support, Glyn didn’t have to think twice about who to call.

Why Accounts.golf

For Glyn, the decision to work with Graeme came down to three things:

  • Understanding – Graeme recognised what Fingagolf was about and where it was in its development.
  • Genuine interest – He was enthusiastic about the game, knew the industry inside-out and introduced it to his own golf network.
  • No hard sell – Rather than pitching his services, Graeme focused on helping Glyn grow his business.

"I needed someone who understood my stage of business development, could explain things clearly, and would be there when I needed advice,” says Glyn. “Graeme ticked every box."

The Support

As a niche product within the golf industry, Fingagolf benefits greatly from Graeme’s sector knowledge. He understands not only the rules and culture of golf, but also the commercial landscape, from how golf clubs operate to how products reach players, members, and retailers. That insight means his advice is always relevant to the unique challenges and opportunities within the sector, rather than being based on generic business assumptions.

For Glyn, this is essential. Fingagolf is a fast, fun, and inclusive product that sits outside traditional golf, and bridging that gap to appeal to both the established golf audience and new, younger players is a key goal. In 2025, more and more businesses are turning to their accountants as trusted business advisers, and partnering with someone who truly understands the industry can make all the difference. Graeme’s ability to speak the language of golf, navigate its networks, and understand its buying habits ensures that his financial guidance is firmly grounded in the realities of the sector.

Graeme’s industry knowledge is matched by his strong connections. Well established in golfing circles, he has already opened doors and created opportunities for Fingagolf that will prove invaluable as the business grows.

"The fact that Graeme talks about Fingagolf with his other golf clients means I’m getting more than just an accountant,” says Glyn. “I’m getting someone who is genuinely championing the business."

Understanding the Golf World

Graeme handles Fingagolf’s bookkeeping and annual accounts, but his role goes well beyond compliance. He provides guidance on best practices, helps Glyn understand key financial documents, and is always available to talk through decisions.

One example stands out. Ahead of a meeting with a potential major partner, Glyn needed a clear understanding of his accounts and the ability to present them with confidence. Graeme walked him through the numbers line by line, explaining what each figure meant and why it mattered. This clarity gave Glyn the financial confidence to represent his business to a significant opportunity.

"Graeme gave me clarity on the numbers at exactly the right time," Glyn recalls. "That meant I could focus on the conversation rather than worrying about whether I’d got my facts straight."

Going Above and Beyond

Glyn values Graeme’s responsiveness and the consistency of his support. Whether it is turning around urgent requests at short notice, providing clarity in the middle of a complex decision, or simply offering reassurance during challenging moments, Graeme is there when needed. He takes the time to understand the situation before giving advice, ensuring that his guidance is relevant and proportionate.

For Glyn, this has been a significant benefit in the early stages of growing Fingagolf. Running a business alongside a full-time teaching role means there is little room for delays or uncertainty. Knowing that his accountant will respond quickly, explain things clearly, and keep the process as straightforward as possible has helped Glyn keep moving forward with confidence.

"He reads the room well," says Glyn. "Sometimes I need a lot of advice, and sometimes I just need to be told to carry on. He knows the difference."

The Difference

Working with Accounts.golf has given Glyn far more than a set of completed accounts at the end of the year. Graeme has helped him put structure around Fingagolf’s finances, so there is a clear view of what is coming in, what is going out, and what to expect in the months ahead. This clarity has been essential for making informed decisions, from when to invest in new stock, to how to prepare for larger opportunities.

It has also removed a significant mental load. With the financial side in safe hands, Glyn can focus on building the business, developing the product, and exploring new opportunities within the golf industry. The additional confidence in his numbers means he can approach conversations with potential partners knowing he is well prepared.

Would Glyn Recommend Accounts.golf?

"Absolutely," Glyn says without hesitation. "You get more than just your accounting. You get knowledge, a network, and tailored support from someone who genuinely cares about your success. Graeme understands the industry, he understands my business, and he’s invested in helping it succeed."
